In a shocking incident, a young man was brutally killed by unidentified assailants in the Telco police station area on Sunday night. After the murder, the attackers dumped the body behind bushes near Neeldih Club, falling under the Golmuri police station limits. The recovery of the body created panic and tension across the locality.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Sohel, a resident of Khajanchi Mohalla under the Jugsalai police station area. According to information, Sohel had not returned home for the past few days. On Sunday night, he had left with his acquaintance Abdul Sufiyan, who was also injured in the incident.
In his statement to the police, injured Abdul Sufiyan said that Sohel had taken him along, and both had gone to visit a theme park. During this time, four youths allegedly arrived from the Telco side and suddenly attacked them with sharp weapons. The exact motive behind the attack is not yet clear, but police suspect that the incident may be linked to an old personal rivalry involving Sohel.
Mohammad Sohel died on the spot due to the attack, while Abdul Sufiyan sustained serious injuries. He managed to escape from the scene and save his life. Later, Sohel’s body was recovered from bushes behind Neeldih Club, located near the boundary of Golmuri and Telco police station areas. Multiple injury marks were found on the body, indicating the extreme brutality of the crime.
Upon receiving information, teams from Golmuri and Telco police stations reached the spot and began an investigation after cordoning off the area. The body was sent for post-mortem examination. Police are collecting evidence from the scene and reviewing footage from nearby CCTV cameras. Meanwhile, the injured Abdul Sufiyan has been admitted to MGM Hospital, where his condition remains critical.
Police officials stated that preliminary investigation suggests the murder may be the result of personal enmity. Authorities have assured that the accused will be identified and arrested soon. Following the incident, an atmosphere of fear prevails in the area.
