Chaibasa: 27-year-old Dharmendra Thakur was critically injured in a road accident that occurred around 9:00 PM on Sunday near the Hat Gamharia Bel Bazaar, situated on NH 75E (Chaibasa-Hat Gamharia Road). According to reports regarding the incident, Dharmendra Thakur was on his way from his home to the market to purchase groceries. During this time, a pickup van traveling from Chaibasa towards Jaitgarh struck him with great force.
It is reported that the impact of the collision was so severe that the pickup van ran over him before continuing forward, resulting in a severe fracture of his right leg. Additionally, he sustained serious head injuries. His motorcycle was also completely wrecked in the accident.
Following the incident, local residents from the surrounding area immediately rushed to provide assistance. Meanwhile, his relatives—Roshan Thakur and Vinod Thakur—also arrived at the scene, and the injured Dharmendra Thakur was immediately transported to the Chaibasa Sadar Hospital.
At the hospital, after administering first aid, doctors referred him to Tata for advanced medical treatment, given the critical nature of his condition.
Meanwhile, upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the scene and have seized the pickup van involved in the accident. The police are currently taking further necessary action regarding the matter.
Local residents have expressed concern over the rising number of accidents on this road and have urged the administration to take appropriate measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
