Chakradharpur (West Singhbhum): In a swift action, Chakradharpur police successfully recovered two stolen motorcycles and arrested two youths involved in the theft from the Khuntpani fair. The breakthrough came on Wednesday when police received a tip-off that some youths were heading toward Sonuwa with stolen bikes.

Acting on the information, the police launched a vehicle checking drive near Ramchandrapur village on the Sonuwa route. During the inspection, two youths on motorcycles were spotted speeding. When stopped, they failed to produce valid documents for the vehicles. Upon interrogation, both confessed to stealing the motorcycles from the Khuntpani fair.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Agasti Pradhan (23), son of Sushant Pradhan, resident of Kunjadih village, under Kuchai police station, Seraikela-Kharsawan district, and Susen Pradhan (25), son of late Ratanakar Pradhan, resident of Gutilata village, Jamdih Tola, under Kharsawan police station, Seraikela-Kharsawan district.

Police recovered two stolen motorcycles from their possession — a Hero Super Splendor (registration number JH06M 9533) and a Hero Honda CD Deluxe (registration number JH06C 8938). A seizure list was prepared, and both accused have been sent to judicial custody.

The operation was carried out under the leadership of Officer-in-Charge Awadhesh Kumar, with the support of Investigating Officer Rohit Kumar, Assistant Sub-Inspector Arjun Singh, and armed police personnel. Officials stated that this action will help curb motorcycle theft incidents during fairs and similar public events, and strict measures will continue against such crimes.
