Jamshedpur: A road accident occurred early Monday morning near the Tatanagar Railway Station overbridge under the Bagbera police station area. Two people riding a scooter were injured after being hit by a truck. The injured were provided medical treatment at the local level. Upon receiving information, the police reached the spot and seized the truck involved in the incident.
According to eyewitnesses, a speeding truck rammed into the scooter from behind with great force. Due to the impact, both riders fell onto the road and sustained injuries. Soon after the accident, a crowd gathered at the spot, leading to temporary disruption of traffic in the area.
Local residents stated that the movement of heavy vehicles is strictly prohibited on the Tatanagar railway overbridge. However, trucks and other heavy vehicles are frequently seen using the bridge in violation of the ban. People alleged that such negligence has increased the risk of accidents in the area. They believe that strict enforcement of traffic rules could prevent such incidents.
The police have seized the truck and initiated an investigation into the matter. The condition of the injured is reported to be out of danger.
