Seraikela: Saturday proved to be a day filled with tragic events in the Seraikela-Kharsawan district, where two individuals lost their lives in two separate rail accidents. These incidents have sent shockwaves throughout the entire region. The police are actively engaged in investigating both cases, and the families of the deceased have been duly informed.

The first incident occurred near the Kolebira railway culvert, falling under the jurisdiction of the Seraikela Police Station. Panic ensued in the area after the body of a young man was discovered lying along the railway tracks. The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Sudhir Kumar Singh, a resident of Jasidih in the Deoghar district. According to preliminary information, Sudhir was traveling from Rajkot to Jamshedpur. During the journey, for reasons yet to be determined, he fell from the train near the Kolebira culvert, resulting in his death at the scene.

Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the spot, took custody of the body, and sent it to the Seraikela Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Station In-charge Vinay Kumar stated that the family members of the deceased have been notified; once they arrive, the necessary formalities will be completed, and the body will be handed over to them.

The second incident took place in Kamalpur, falling under the jurisdiction of the Sini Outpost (OP) within the Seraikela Police Station area. Here, a man was struck by a train while attempting to cross the railway tracks. In this accident, 50-year-old Parvez Ansari died on the spot. Reports suggest that he was crossing the railway tracks in the morning hours when a high-speed train suddenly approached and he was caught in its path.

Following the incident, a pall of gloom descended upon the deceased’s family. Upon receiving the report, the Sini OP police reached the scene, took custody of the body, and sent it for a post-mortem examination. In both cases, the police are currently conducting further investigations and taking necessary legal action.
