Jamshedpur: Panic and curiosity gripped the locality on Thursday after the body of an unidentified man was recovered between Kalighat and Bhains Ghat on Gurudwara Road under the jurisdiction of Mango police station in Jamshedpur.
Soon after news of the incident spread, a large number of local residents gathered at the spot, triggering widespread discussion across the area.
According to local residents, including Anant Verma, Sunil Anand, Santosh Singh, and Raju Paji, a few people had gone towards the ghat in the morning when they noticed a man lying in a suspicious condition near the water’s edge. As they approached closer, they discovered that the man was dead. The matter was immediately reported to the Mango police station.
Acting on the information, police personnel from Mango police station reached the scene, took the body into custody, and began an investigation into the incident. Officers questioned people present near the area and made efforts to establish the identity of the deceased.
Police said the deceased appears to be between 45 and 50 years old. However, no identification documents were recovered from the spot.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death. Police officials stated that the circumstances surrounding the death remain unclear, and further action will be taken based on the findings of the post-mortem report. The investigation is currently underway.
