Beneficiaries Must Receive Full Quota from PDS Shops; Strict Action Ordered Against Irregularities
Lohardaga, Jharkhand Deputy Commissioner Dr. Tarachand has issued a stern warning to officials, stating that any negligence or irregularity in foodgrain distribution under the Public Distribution System (PDS) will not be tolerated.
The DC was addressing a district-level review meeting on supply operations held on Tuesday, where he directed officials to ensure that all beneficiaries receive their full entitled quota of foodgrains from the PDS shops without any shortage or delay.
Strict Instructions for Monitoring and Transparency
Dr. Tarachand emphasized that any complaint regarding short supply or malpractice in ration distribution would result in immediate action against the responsible marketing officer.
He instructed the supply department to maintain strict vigilance and transparency throughout the foodgrain distribution process. The Deputy Commissioner also directed that data related to stock lifting and warehouse arrivals must be updated in real-time on the official portal to prevent any form of discrepancy or data manipulation.
Regular Inspections to Ensure Beneficiary Satisfaction
The meeting was attended by District Supply Officer Manish Kumar, all Assistant Godown Managers (AGMs), and marketing officers.
Dr. Tarachand further instructed officials to conduct routine inspections of PDS outlets across the district and ensure that beneficiary satisfaction remains the top administrative priority.
He reiterated that the district administration is committed to maintaining transparency, accountability, and fairness in the implementation of all welfare schemes, particularly those involving essential commodities distributed to the public.
