Ghatshila: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) National General Secretary (Urban Bodies) Dr. Pawan Pandey visited Ghatshila in East Singhbhum district on Friday during a one-day tour. Local NCP leaders and workers warmly welcomed him upon his arrivalDuring his address to party members, Dr. Pandey revealed that local NCP officials and workers had earlier suggested that the party should not participate in the upcoming Ghatshila Assembly by-election. After careful consideration of their proposal, the party leadership officially decided not to field a candidate in the bypoll.
Clarifying the party’s position, Dr. Pandey stated that the NCP is not part of any political alliance in Jharkhand and has always contested elections independently. He reminded that during the 2024 Assembly elections, the party had fielded candidates in 33 constituencies across the state, reaffirming its independent political stance.
Emphasizing the importance of democratic participation, Dr. Pandey urged all voters to actively take part in the “festival of democracy” and cast their votes responsibly. He appealed to citizens to support the candidate most committed to ensuring Ghatshila’s development and progress.
The meeting saw the presence of several prominent NCP leaders, including Anwar Hussain, Jitendra Mishra, Saurav Ojha, Tejpal Singh, Tony Mohammad Rizwan, and Wilson Kullu, along with a large number of party workers and supporters.
