Jamshedpur, Jharkhand โ€“ A massive fire broke out late Monday night at a wholesale ready-made garment shop in Hindu Basti under the Golmuri police station area, causing panic among local residents. The blaze completely gutted the shop, destroying property estimated to be worth several lakhs of rupees.

According to locals, the fire spread rapidly, engulfing the entire store within hours. Clothes, furniture, the cash counter, and other materials were all reduced to ashes. On Tuesday morning, smoke was spotted rising from the shop, prompting residents to alert the owner, but by then, the damage was already extensive.

The shop owner estimated the loss at around โ‚น20โ€“25 lakh. While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, a short circuit is suspected, though some residents have hinted at possible foul play. Police have registered the incident and begun a detailed investigation.
