Dhanbad, Jharkhand: Marking the proud completion of 25 years of Jharkhand’s statehood, the district administration organized the “Run for Jharkhand” event today from Randhir Verma Stadium. The event celebrated the Jharkhand Silver Jubilee, highlighting the state’s journey of culture, development, and aspirations.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Shri Aditya Ranjan joined hundreds of enthusiastic citizens in the unity run, officially inaugurating the district-level series of programmes under the Silver Jubilee celebrations and the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
Route of the Run
The “Run for Jharkhand” was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Aditya Ranjan from Golf Ground. The route covered major city points — City Centre, Puja Talkies, DRM Chowk, Court More, Randhir Verma Chowk — and concluded back at Golf Ground.

The winners were felicitated by the Deputy Commissioner with cheques of ₹3000, ₹2000, and ₹1000 respectively, along with trophies recognizing their achievements.
Sports and Cultural Festivities
In addition to the run, several sports and cultural programmes were held at Golf Ground, including Zumba, Archery, Boxing, Football, and Badminton, which drew energetic participation from local residents. Traditional Jharkhandi dance performances showcased the rich Jharkhand culture and heritage, adding a festive charm to the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner Aditya Ranjan encouraged participants and extended best wishes for their bright future, emphasizing the importance of sports, fitness, and community participation.
Deputy Commissioner’s Address
Addressing the gathering, Shri Aditya Ranjan stated that Jharkhand Statehood Day (15 November) is a symbol of pride and an opportunity to celebrate the state’s unique identity. He emphasized promoting health, fitness, and sportsmanship among youth under the theme “Fit Jharkhand – Healthy Jharkhand.”
He added that the 25th year of Jharkhand reflects the state’s pride, commitment, and progress, and that initiatives like “Run for Jharkhand” aim to strengthen unity and collective growth. He called upon citizens to take active part in the Silver Jubilee celebrations on November 15 with full enthusiasm.

Among the dignitaries present were City SP Shri Ritvik Srivastava, Divisional Forest Officer Shri Vikas Paliwal, Municipal Commissioner Shri Raviraj Sharma, ADM Supply Shri Jiaul Ansari, District Panchayati Raj Officer Shri Mukesh Bauri, District Sports Officer Shri Umesh Lohra, along with Circle Officers and other senior district officials.
