Government schedules all-party meeting today ahead of Monsoon Session

New Delhi:Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju will chair an all-party meeting today on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. in the Main Committee Room of Parliament House Annexe, ahead of the Monsoon Session beginning on July 21.

Senior leaders from the government, including Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah, will attend the meeting. Leaders from various opposition parties and NDA allies will also participate.

This meeting aims to promote cooperation among political parties for the productive functioning of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Floor leaders of major parties have been invited to discuss the government’s legislative agenda and seek consensus on key topics. The Monsoon Session will last from July 21 to August 21, with 21 sittings scheduled and a break from August 12 to August 18.

Minister Rijiju expressed the government’s readiness to address national matters and pending legislation, emphasizing regular communication with opposition leaders. Key bills to be taken up include the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, the National Sports Governance Bill, and the Merchant Shipping Bill. Additionally, seven pending bills and eight proposed for discussion have been listed for consideration during the session.
