Jamshedpur, Jharkhand: Ahead of the upcoming Ghatshila Assembly by-election, the East Singhbhum district administration has announced a temporary change in traffic movement to ensure the safe transportation of election materials and smooth traffic management. As per the directive, the movement of heavy vehicles in the city will remain completely prohibited on November 10 and 11.

According to the official order, no heavy vehicles will be allowed to enter or exit the city between 4:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on November 10, and again from 4:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on November 11. During these restricted hours, only light vehicles and vehicles engaged in essential services will be permitted to operate on city roads.

Traffic DSP stated that the measure has been implemented to ensure the uninterrupted and secure movement of polling materials. He further added that special police deployment will be in place across key areas to prevent traffic congestion and maintain law and order during the election process.

Residents have been urged to cooperate with the administration and avoid bringing heavy vehicles onto the roads unnecessarily. Police have warned that strict action will be taken against anyone found violating the traffic restrictions.

In addition, the traffic control room has been placed on high alert to ensure immediate response to any emergency situation and to avoid any disruption to the election operations.
