Koderma: Under the guidance of the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority, Ranchi, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Koderma, led by Principal District & Sessions Judge and DLSA Chairperson Ramakant Mishra and Secretary Gautam Kumar, organized the distribution of woolen blankets to poor and homeless Birhor people struggling to survive the severe cold nights without shelter. The initiative reflects the team’s sensitivity and commitment toward the underprivileged.

Today, Saturday, with support from the District Administration Koderma, the DLSA team visited Koderma Lokai Birhor Basti and other areas to distribute blankets among the needy. Under the able guidance of Principal District Judge Ramakant Mishra, the DLSA team, including Secretary Gautam Kumar, roamed late into the night to identify people forced to live in extreme cold without proper shelter. Hundreds of people living in huts and makeshift homes received woolen blankets, bringing smiles and hope to their faces. The initiative has been widely appreciated for its empathy and community service.

It is noteworthy that the sudden drop in temperature had caused distress among the homeless, which deeply concerned the Principal District Judge. Upon noticing people suffering in the cold, he instructed Secretary Gautam Kumar to ensure immediate provision of blankets. In response, blankets were arranged with the help of the District Administration and distributed jointly by the DLSA team. While providing blankets, the Principal District Judge also directed the authority to help these needy Birhor people access government welfare schemes.

The distribution team included court staff Ranjit Kumar Singh, Santosh Kumar Singh, and para-legal volunteers Pandey Shekhar Prasad, Manoj Kumar, Ravindra Kumar Yadav, among others. The efforts of the District Legal Services Authority, Koderma, have been widely praised for their compassion and dedication toward vulnerable communities.
