Bokaro, Jharkhand – A delegation from the Jharkhand Kalyan Parishad, led by MP representative and General Secretary Vikram Mahato, met Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha on Tuesday to submit a memorandum seeking library resources for the Rajendra Mahato Memorial Hall.
Vikram Mahato highlighted that the late Rajendra Mahato, a prominent leader of the Jharkhand/Vananchal movement, passed away on November 5, 2020. In his memory, villagers of his native Partang donated land, and with the support of well-wishers, a memorial hall was constructed. Rajendra Mahato made significant contributions not only in social and political spheres but also in education, playing a key role in institutions such as Ramrudra High School Chas, Chas College, City College, B.B. Mahato High School Kura, and GGSTE College. Through the Rajendra Mahato Inter College in Chas, the Jharkhand Kalyan Parishad continues to promote educational development.
Mahato pointed out that although the memorial hall’s construction is complete, the absence of a library in the area poses challenges for students from rural backgrounds. He requested that books and study materials be provided at the hall to benefit underprivileged students and continue Rajendra Mahato’s vision of educational service.
The delegation appealed to the Deputy Commissioner to recommend necessary action for supplying library resources. Several members of the Jharkhand Kalyan Parishad were present during the meeting.
