Chaibasa: The Chaibasa Chamber of Commerce and Industries has decided to launch a public movement demanding improvements in the timely operation of the Howrah–Bardbil Jan Shatabdi Express. The decision was taken on Friday during the chamber’s second meeting held at The Hot Restaurant, chaired by the chamber’s founder co-president Anoop Kumar Sultania. It was decided that a chamber delegation will soon meet the DRM of Chakradharpur Railway Division to submit a memorandum. If no improvements are made in the train’s schedule, the chamber plans to organize a large-scale public movement. Anoop Sultania said that this movement would be even bigger and more impactful than the railway movement of 2003. During the meeting, all seventeen committee members were presented with membership certificates. It was also decided that rules and membership fees for new members will be announced soon. Secretary Deepak Sharma informed that on 11 November 2025, the delegation met the Indian State Bank branch manager in Chaibasa to submit a memorandum regarding unemployment, shortage of new currency notes, and problems with torn and old notes. He further mentioned that a fixed deposit of ₹25 lakh held by the chamber trust in HDFC Bank was improperly withdrawn and transferred to another bank by the trustees for life, and the matter has been taken up with the bank for recovery. Discussions were also held on city cleanliness and traffic problems. It was decided that a chamber delegation will meet the municipal administrator to submit a memorandum regarding garbage management and traffic congestion. Additionally, a delegation will meet the West Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner to resolve difficulties faced by senior citizens in obtaining Aadhaar cards. Extensive discussions were held regarding issues in the Chakradharpur area, with Joint Secretary Manoj Jindal providing detailed insights. The meeting was conducted by Secretary Deepak Sharma, and 15 out of 17 committee members attended, including Former President Vimal Sarraf, Vice Presidents Jayprakash Mundra and Sunil Dodrajka, Secretary Deepak Sharma, Joint Secretaries Viman Kumar Pal and Manoj Jindal, Treasurer Jitendra Maddhesia, and other committee members Pradeep Kumar Singh, Sanjay Dodrajka, Gopesh Pradhan, Manish Kumar Singh, Ashish Pandey, Ritesh (Pintu) Kumar, and Manish Pasari.
