Gurugram: Amway India has announced an expansion of its store network across key markets in the country, with a focus on strengthening customer engagement and providing distributors with dedicated spaces to build communities. The move forms part of the company’s long-term growth strategy in India and follows its announcement last year of an investment of Rs 100 crore, a portion of which was earmarked for expanding its stores. The latest phase of the Amway India store expansion was launched by Michael Nelson, the company’s president and chief executive officer, who inaugurated a new store in Gurugram during his official visit.\n\nThe expansion is intended to give customers greater opportunities to explore Amway’s products and understand its brand, while providing distributors with a dedicated platform to interact with customers and build stronger local communities.\n\nSpeaking at the inauguration, Amway President and CEO Michael Nelson said India played an important role in the company’s global growth journey. He highlighted the changing preferences of Indian consumers, who are increasingly seeking reliable, science-backed health and wellness solutions from brands that understand their individual needs and are easy to engage with.\n\nNelson said the company aimed to develop modern centres where customers could explore products first-hand and distributors could respond more effectively to evolving consumer needs. He added that the centres also helped people learn about new products, describing the inauguration of the experience centre in Gurugram as an important milestone in Amway’s journey in India.\n\nRajneesh Chopra, managing director of Amway India, said the company’s stores played a significant role in improving the experience of both customers and distributors. He explained that the outlets were designed to function as engagement hubs rather than conventional retail stores, enabling customers to connect directly with the brand and giving distributors a stronger platform to build relationships and communities.\n\nChopra said Amway had expanded its presence in several locations over the past year by opening new stores and upgrading existing outlets into engagement hubs. The company plans to continue expanding its network across India in the coming years, reflecting its long-term commitment to the country and its contribution to the vision of a developed India.\n\nHe added that these initiatives were intended to support healthier lifestyles, promote economic empowerment and make world-class products accessible to a wider customer base.\n\nAmway India currently operates more than 85 stores across the country. In recent months, the company has accelerated efforts to revamp its retail network, with more than 14 stores either newly opened or upgraded in key markets. These include Pune, Kolkata, Siliguri, Imphal, Bhagalpur, Anand, Ahmedabad, Bongaigaon, Agra and Nanded.\n\nThe expansion reflects the company’s focus on both metropolitan centres and tier-two and tier-three markets. Over the next three to four years, Amway India plans to open additional stores and renovate existing outlets to strengthen its presence across the country.\n\nAmway India is also approaching the completion of 30 years of operations in the country. The company said its initiatives remain centred on strengthening the direct-selling ecosystem as part of its long-term commitment to India.”,
