Jamshedpur: A mobile shop owner in the Mango police station area of Jamshedpur has alleged that six to seven masked men entered his shop, assaulted him and stole around Rs 60,000 after a dispute over a mobile phone EMI payment on Monday morning. The incident took place at Friends Mobile Store in Munshi Mohalla. One of the alleged attackers was caught with the help of local residents, while the others fled the scene.
According to shop owner Naseem Hussain, one of the youths had purchased a mobile phone on instalments through Bajaj Finance but had failed to pay the EMI from the first month. Hussain said he had been contacting the customer by phone for around 15 days, asking him to clear the outstanding instalment.

The shop owner alleged that the youth later returned with six to seven other men, all of whom had covered their faces. When Hussain asked them to stop and leave the shop, they allegedly began assaulting him and vandalised the premises. He further claimed that around Rs 60,000 was stolen from around his neck during the assault.
With the help of local residents, one of the youths was caught during the incident and later handed over to Mango police. The police have been informed about the incident. Further details regarding the investigation and the steps being taken to arrest the remaining accused are awaited.
