Jamshedpur: A 40-year-old supervisor at a contract company died by suicide at his home in Bhalubasa Harijan Basti under the Sitaramdera police station area on Sunday evening. Jamshedpur supervisor Jeetu Mukhi was found hanging at around 6pm while he was alone at home. His wife had gone to work and their two children were also away.
According to the family, Jeetu was found hanging in a room when relatives returned home later in the evening. They immediately informed the Sitaramdera police. Police reached the spot, inspected the scene and took the body into custody before sending it for post-mortem examination.
The post-mortem process was completed on Monday, after which police handed the body over to the family. Relatives said Jeetu had been under mental stress for the past few days and that the family was also facing financial difficulties. However, it has not yet been established whether these circumstances were directly linked to his death.
Police have started an investigation into the case. Relatives are being questioned to determine the actual circumstances and reason behind the death.
