Chaibasa: A Jhinkpani trailer crash in West Singhbhum district has claimed the life of a tempo driver from Jugsalai in Jamshedpur. The accident took place on the main road near Jhinkpani police station when a trailer hit a goods-laden tempo from behind while attempting to overtake it as both vehicles were travelling from Chaibasa towards Jhinkpani. The deceased has been identified as Shakir Sadab, a resident of Jugsalai, Jamshedpur. He was carrying soap and other goods in the tempo when the trailer, travelling at high speed, struck the vehicle during the overtaking attempt. The impact was so severe that the tempo became lodged in the front section of the trailer, leaving Shakir trapped inside. After receiving information about the accident, Jhinkpani police reached the spot. Local residents also gathered at the scene. Police and villagers made considerable efforts to rescue Shakir from the damaged tempo before taking him to Sadar Hospital, Chaibasa, in critical condition. Doctors examined him and declared him dead. Following the accident, local residents stopped the trailer. Police seized the vehicle and began an investigation. According to police, contact is being made with Jugsalai police to confirm the deceased’s identity and other details. Shakir’s mobile phone was also damaged in the accident. Police have started the process of sending the body for post-mortem examination. The incident caused a brief disruption on the main road, with a crowd gathering at the site and some confusion following the crash.
