YBN University hosts indoor sports competitions on National Sports Day

Ranchi: YBN University hosted various indoor sports competitions on the occasion of National Sports Day on August 31, with the aim of promoting sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, healthy competition and awareness of a healthy lifestyle among students.\n\nThe programme was formally inaugurated by University Registrar Dr Deepti Bhargava, Chief Financial Officer Dr Arvind Kumar, Deputy Registrar Mr Sanjay Tiwari, DSW Dr Aarti Gupta and Head of the Human Resources Department Dr Jyoti Mishra. The guests encouraged the students and said that sports, along with education, play an important role in the personality development and overall growth of students.\n\nThe competitions were organised by the Sports Committee under the guidance of Mr Sumeet Kachhap, Sports In-charge. Matches in table tennis, carrom and chess were held in both boys’ and girls’ categories, with students participating enthusiastically.\n\nIn the boys’ table tennis category, Anmol from Allied Health Sciences won the title, while Imran, also from Allied Health Sciences, finished as runner-up. In the girls’ category, Annu from Allied Health Sciences was the winner and Suman from Allied Health Sciences was the runner-up.\n\nIn boys’ chess, Ankit from Allied Health Sciences secured first place, while Gulshan from Pharmacy was the runner-up. In girls’ chess, Mansi from Pharmacy won the competition and Bilkish from Law Studies finished second.\n\nIn girls’ carrom, the winning pair was Diksha and Ritika from Pharmacy, while Ashia and Shifa from BHMS were the runners-up.\n\nDuring the competitions, students demonstrated their talent, strategic thinking, sporting skills and competitive spirit. The winners and runners-up were honoured and encouraged for their outstanding performances and dedication.\n\nThe National Sports Day event concluded with enthusiasm, excitement and healthy competition among the students. The programme highlighted the message that a healthy body supports the development of a healthy mind. Through the successful conclusion of the event, YBN University reaffirmed its commitment to students’ overall development, academic excellence and the promotion of sporting talent.
