Jamshedpur. Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to request halts for various important trains at Ghatshila, Galudih, Rakhamines, and Chakulia railway stations within the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency. The MP informed the Railway Minister that local residents have long been demanding train stoppages at these stations.
The MP requested halts for the Gitanjali Express, Vande Bharat Express, Samaleswari Express, and Azad Hind Express at Ghatshila station. Additionally, he urged for the Shalimar-Gorakhpur Express to stop at Ghatshila station twice a week; currently, the train stops there only once a week. According to the MP, the Railway Minister has approved this request.
During the meeting, demands were also raised for the Howrah-Kolkata Express to stop at Galudih station and the Shalimar-Lokmanya Tilak Express at Rakhamines station. A request was also made for the Kriyayoga Express to stop at Chakulia station. Furthermore, the MP asked the Railway Minister to provide halts at Ghatshila and Chakulia stations for the train running between Tata and Jaipur.
The MP stated that the lack of halts for these major trains causes significant inconvenience to passengers from the Ghatshila subdivision and surrounding rural areas. Passengers are forced to travel to other stations to catch trains, resulting in an extra expenditure of both time and money. He noted that providing train halts at these stations would directly benefit thousands of passengers in the region.
He told the Railway Minister that improved rail connectivity would make travel to other cities much more convenient for local residents regarding education, employment, business, and medical treatment. Considering the public interest, the MP urged the Minister to take positive action on all proposals and issue necessary instructions to the concerned officials. MP Bidyut Baran Mahato stated that he is in constant contact with the Ministry of Railways regarding passenger amenities and train stoppages at various railway stations within the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency. A request for stoppages of other important trains, in line with the region’s needs, has also been placed before the Ministry. Dinesh Sab and others were present on the occasion.
