Chaibasa: The impact of a news report published on the basis of information provided by Sadar police regarding an unidentified body kept at the post-mortem house of Sadar Hospital, Chaibasa, was seen on Monday. Soon after the news was published, the family members of the elderly deceased identified him and reached the hospital.
The deceased’s daughter Maki Pingua and daughter-in-law Malti Surin said they came to know about the incident after seeing the news on their mobile phones on Sunday evening. As soon as they saw the report, they immediately left their home for Ranchi and reached Sadar Hospital on Monday.
The family identified the deceased as Charo Surin, a resident of Gamharia village under Goilkera police station area.
According to the family, Charo Surin had left home a few days ago to visit his daughter’s house, but he never reached there and had been untraceable since then. When news about an unidentified body surfaced, the family grew suspicious and rushed to the hospital. After seeing the body at the post-mortem house, they confirmed his identity.
After the identification, the family submitted the necessary documents to the Sadar Hospital administration, following which further legal formalities were initiated.
The family expressed gratitude to the media for publishing the news in time. Local residents said that such reports often prove extremely helpful for families searching for missing relatives.
