Koderma, Jharkhand: A tragic road accident occurred on Tuesday morning near Bandarchuwa in Koderma Valley, under the jurisdiction of Koderma Police Station, when a truck overturned, leading to the death of its driver on the spot.
The deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Ram Prakash, son of Suresh Ram, a resident of Semariyawan, Uttar Pradesh. According to police sources, the truck was en route to Patna (Bihar) via Koderma when the accident took place.
Driver Loses Control While Avoiding Oncoming Vehicle
Preliminary reports suggest that while negotiating a sharp turn near Bandarchuwa, the driver attempted to avoid an oncoming vehicle, which caused the truck to lose control and skid off the road, eventually plunging into a roadside ditch.
Locals in the area quickly responded after noticing the overturned vehicle. They alerted authorities and called for an ambulance (108 emergency service). With the help of nearby residents, the driver’s body was extracted from the damaged truck and sent to Koderma Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Police Begin Recovery Operation
Upon receiving the alert, a team from Koderma Police reached the accident site and began efforts to recover the overturned truck using heavy machinery. The deceased driver’s family has been notified, and official procedures are underway.
Police stated that further investigation will be conducted once the family arrives and formal statements are recorded.
This tragic incident once again highlights the risks faced by transport drivers on steep and curved stretches of the Koderma Valley road, a route known for its challenging terrain and frequent accidents. Authorities have urged drivers to exercise extra caution while navigating through the area.
