Jamshedpur: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will organise a massive Jamshedpur march on 5 November under its ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy’ campaign. The party has stepped up preparations for the programme, aimed at countering the Congress and opposition parties over their protests and criticism of constitutional institutions. A detailed strategy was discussed at a joint meeting of BJP Jamshedpur Mahanagar and East Singhbhum district leaders on Saturday at Q Road in Bistupur. The meeting was chaired by Jamshedpur Mahanagar president Sanjeev Sinha and attended by Jharkhand BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu and state organisation general secretary Pawan Sai, who guided party workers on preparations for the march. The meeting focused on organisational arrangements, responsibilities of party workers and ways to ensure wider public participation. Welcoming the leaders and introducing the agenda, Sanjeev Sinha announced that the march would begin at Netaji Subhas Maidan (Aam Bagan) in Sakchi. Dhanbad MLA Raj Sinha and prominent leaders from the central leadership are also expected to participate. Addressing the meeting, Aditya Sahu said the campaign would present the BJP’s response to what he described as baseless opposition protests and double standards in politics. He said the party would reach out to the public to highlight the opposition’s political agenda and what he termed its attempts to create instability in the country. Sahu alleged that the Congress had lost public confidence and was seeking to regain power by creating an atmosphere of disorder. He said questioning constitutional institutions reflected the party’s political frustration. He also accused the Congress of raising questions about democratic systems and constitutional institutions selectively, according to its political convenience. He asserted that the country should be governed through democratic principles and respect for the Constitution, rather than anarchy. He added that the campaign would seek to increase public awareness of national unity, constitutional values, social harmony and citizens’ responsibilities. Organisation general secretary Pawan Sai briefed party workers on organisational preparations and expansion. He stressed the need to take the campaign to every section of society, ensure active participation from the organisation and encourage more members of the public to join the march. MP Bidyut Baran Mahato said the Congress and other opposition parties were questioning democratic institutions and constitutional arrangements out of political frustration. He alleged that attempts were being made to mislead the public and create confusion and disorder in the country. He said the BJP remained committed to protecting democracy, the Constitution and national unity, adding that party workers would counter what he described as the opposition’s misleading narrative and negative politics through public outreach. Former state BJP president Dr Dineshanand Goswami said the march would represent a strong call for democracy and a commitment to defeating anarchy. He said the programme would highlight the protection of democratic values and issues concerning national interest. Jamshedpur East MLA Purnima Sahu said the march would provide a response to what she described as baseless opposition protests and attempts to destabilise the country. She urged party workers to participate with unity, dedication and commitment, and to ensure that as many people as possible joined the campaign. District general secretary Jitendra Rai conducted the proceedings of the meeting. Those present included former district presidents Brahmadev Narayan Sharma, Devendra Singh, Rambabu Tiwari, Binod Singh, Nandji Prasad and Sudhanshu Ojha. State working committee members Manoj Singh, Rajan Singh, Menaka Sardar, Meera Munda, Dulal Bhuiyan, Amarpreet Singh Kale, Rajesh Shukla, Jatashankar Pandey, Yogesh Malhotra and Anil Modi also attended. District office-bearers Sanjeev Singh, Pradeep Mahato, Babua Singh, Amarjeet Singh, Rajeev Singh, Jitendra Rai, Muchiram Bauri, Tanmay Jha, Rinku Singh, Reena Chaudhary, Renu Sinha, Ajay Srivastava, Dharmendra Prasad, Amit Agarwal, Kali Sharma, Sanjeet Chaurasia, Akhil Singh, Gyan Prakash, Binod Singh and Ujjwal Singh were among those present. Morcha presidents Nitish Kushwaha, Neelu Machhua, Sagar Rai, Manjeet Singh, Ramesh Baske, Poresh Mukhi, Chintu Singh and Shashank Shekhar, along with various mandal presidents and other party workers, also attended the meeting.
